Ebbe Bassey, was born in the Bronx, New York and raised in Calabar, Nigeria, West Africa. She is an actress, writer, producer who believes that art should educate and entertain.

Ebbe has been on NYPD Blues as well as Law & Order: SVU and on the latter she also served as a technical advisor for the episode "Snitch" which dealt with female gender mutilation in Nigeria.

She can be seen in the feature films: "Ties that Bind" with Kimberly Elise, Omotola J. Ekeinde, "Mother of George" by Andrew Dosunmu's "Doctor Bello" with Isaiah Washington, Vivica A. Fox "And Then There was You" with Garcelle Beauvais, Lynn Whitfield.

She can also been seen in the short films "A Spoonful of Sugar" which first aired on World AIDS Day on the Showtime Network ,"African Booty Scratcher" on HBO.
